Project Description:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Design network topologies and site configurations
•Direct network installations
•Operate and maintain the Local and Wide Area Networks
•Assist with plans, operations, engineering and installation of networks to new locations
•Monitor Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN)
•Direct and prioritize network troubleshooting and maintenance
•Install, maintain and troubleshoot network equipment – routers and switches
•Produce network configuration documentation and designs
•Work closely with network personnel to ensure dependencies are maintained
•Create and maintain access control lists.
•Evaluate and provide recommendations of overall LAN/WAN technology requirements for performance, availability, utilization and reliability.
•Keep the Project Manager/Installation Coordinator advised on the status of current projects.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
•5+ years experience as a Network Engineer.
•Proficient in LAN, WAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, ACL’s, Firewalls, DNS, Routing Protocols
•Proficient with Riverbed, Netflow, all Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco PIX/ASA Firewalls, Cisco Wireless Controllers, CiscoWorks, ACS, F5 Load Balancers, Checkpoint Firewalls, and Websense Proxy Appliances
•Network Monitoring Tools
•In-depth knowledge of layer 3 technologies, such as HSRP, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP.
•In-depth knowledge of layer 2 technologies, various LAN/WAN mediums (i.e. PPP, HDLC, etc.)
•Logging aggregation and reporting via SNMP and SYSLOG
•Proficient in Microsoft Visio to document networks
•Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Proven skills in problem solving and decision making
•Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
•Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a
fast-paced environment

Education
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or Equivalent Experience Preferred.
•CCNP Certification
