We're launching Skylane Rising, a licensed adult-use (21+) cannabis dispensary in the Pacific Northwest, and we need a logo that captures: a sunrise — warmth, optimism, and a fresh start. The brand story is a beloved neighborhood store rising to its full potential, and the visual identity is built around dawn: the building itself will be painted in sunrise colors, so the logo must feel like it belongs to that world. This is a premium, welcoming, professional cannabis brand. The logo must translate perfectly onto a large-format retail sign, so clarity, legibility, and strong visual impact at distance are critical. What we're looking for: A primary logo: the name "Skylane Rising" paired with a rising sun mark (required) — a half-sun cresting a horizon with clean radiating rays, or your own take on it. A standalone sun icon that works alone at small sizes (social avatar, favicon, embroidery) Critical technical requirements: Must work as backlit channel-letter signage — bold shapes, no fine detail, no thin lines, strong silhouette Horizontal and stacked lockups Regulatory constraints (non-negotiable — entries violating these are disqualified): Nothing that could appeal to minors: no cartoon characters, mascots, toys, candy styling, or childlike imagery No cannabis leaves or overt drug imagery. No medical crosses or health claims imagery Deliverables from the winner: Vector source files (AI or EPS and SVG) High-res PNGs (transparent background) of all lockups in color, white, and black Font names + confirmation of commercial licensing (or text converted to outlines) Full copyright transfer / all rights assigned to us A mock-up of how the logo will appear on a retail storefront sign Winner handover & what to expect after award: Minor revisions included in the prize. Please build your files so the lettering is easy to edit before outlining. Final files are due within 5 days of award: layered vector source (AI/EPS + SVG), transparent PNGs of every lockup in full color / white / black, font names with commercial-license confirmation (plus an outlined-text version of all files), and the mini brand guide PDF. IP transfer is a condition of payment: by accepting the prize, the winner assigns full copyright and all rights in the winning design to us, confirms the work is original, and confirms no stock elements are used that can't be transferred.
