I have an STM32F4-based design that talks to an SD card through the SDIO interface and also exposes the same storage over USB. Using FatFs I can open, read and write files without trouble—until the system sits idle for roughly five minutes. After that pause every file call returns FR_DISK_ERR, the volume refuses to remount, and only a full reset clears the fault.
