Project Request: Custom Foaming Shower Head (Functional Prototype & 3D Model) Hello, I’m looking to hire an experienced product designer / mechanical engineer with 3D printing experience to help us develop a fully functional foaming shower head by modifying an existing foaming car wash sprayer design. This is not a cosmetic or conceptual project — the end goal is a working, printable, testable part that produces thick, luxurious foam when installed inline with a standard household shower. Reference Product (Base Design) We want you to replicate the internal functional design of the following product: Reference Product (Foaming Car Wash Sprayer): [login to view URL] This product appears to use a venturi effect to pull liquid concentrate from the bottle, mix it with water, and expel thick foam. That internal geometry and flow path are critical and must be preserved functionally. We will send you: Two physical units One to keep intact One you can cut in half and disassemble for internal measurements Additional plumbing components for shower installation and testing Important: A previous designer produced a beautiful model that did not function. Precision here matters. My husband is a machinist and will be reviewing tolerances and functionality closely. 2. Scope of Work (What We Need Modeled) You will create an EXACT, dimensionally accurate 3D model replica of the functional components we are using, with required modifications listed below. Parts to Model Lid / cap assembly Internal venturi / siphon components Nozzle (with internal screen preserved) Threaded collar / neck Do NOT model: Trigger handle Hose sprayer handle Jar Dial / adjustment knob 3. Required Modifications A. Shower Compatibility Inside thread of collar must be ½-inch female NPT Must screw directly onto a standard shower arm Outside geometry should match inside alignment exactly B. Bottle / Jar Compatibility We will be using this jar (wider mouth, different threads): [login to view URL] Lid threads must be modified to fit this jar We will send you a physical jar for reference Jar interface must seal properly under water pressure C. Foam Ratio Control We do not want a dial The internal siphon hole should be sized to match the equivalent of “Setting 2” on the original product Goal: thick, spa-like foam, not watery spray D. Nozzle Aesthetics Original nozzle internals remain unchanged Add a decorative outer sleeve over the nozzle “Gun silencer” aesthetic (purely cosmetic) Tip must remain exposed so the spray fans properly E. Simplification Remove ridges and unnecessary decorative elements Clean, modern, minimal design We may request our logo inverted into the neck area 4. Printing & Testing Requirements This is critical: You must print prototypes yourself Material: TPU or PETG, other recommendations acceptable My 3D Printer: Bambu Labs H2D (AMS-compatible) You must install and test it in your own shower Validate: Foam density Proper siphoning No leaks Secure mounting Consistent spray pattern This is a functional consumer product, not a bench-only test. 5. Deliverables Final print-ready 3D files (STL + native CAD) Documentation on: Internal flow path Any recommended tolerance adjustments Known limitations or suggested improvements Iteration support if small changes are needed to ensure performance 6. Engineering Flexibility If, during development, you believe: A geometry change is required for better venturi performance A tolerance adjustment is needed for TPU A small design compromise will improve real-world function Please propose it.
