We're looking for someone with the experience and skill to create an interface for our online magazine that will allow subscribers to view their current months magazine issue ( and previous months issues ), collections etc by means of a slick, elegant "coverflow" display when they download the magazines to their computers. It should look like the one used by Apple for iTunes. There are several off-the-shelf apps available for very low prices. We need one that is customizable, elegant, highly reliable and smooth. Visit [url removed, login to view] for samples ( select PHOTOflow at the bottom part of the page) You will be required to recommend an app, customize to display the covers of our titles and design it so our staff can easily upload new content and new categories anytime. The coverflow will show the printed versions ( the covers of the magazine issue) and another section will feature the CD covers for the audio version.
How it is suppose to work :
1. Subscribers select a magazine issue online and download it in the format the want ( PDF/MP3/iPhone). It is saved on their computer/iPhone in a coverflow format, with the image of the magazine cover or the CD cover.
2. Subscribers select which coverflow they want to view ( eg 2009 titles, various categories, audio version etc). The system you customize should allow us to easily add a new category ( button or tab ) and easily upload/link new content/images each month.
2. When a subscriber is viewing the selected coverflow category, he or she will select a title. Eg they select the May 2009 printed issue. The May 2009 issue then opens for them to read on their computer or other devise. Or if they select the May 2009 audio version, the audio is played on their computer and while it is playing, the cover of the issue will be displayed. They may also download the audio to their MP3 player or iPhone.
More details and samples will be provided once the bidders have been shortlisted. Skill in Flash, Illustrator, iPhone app creation and related programming knowledge will be required for this project.
