Here is a sample of a psychology research paper I recently wrote: In recent decades, the percentage of Australians at risk for eating disorders has increased substantially. It is estimated that eating disorders affect nearly 1 million Australians, and 15% of women will experience an eating disorder at some point in their lives (EDV 2013). These numbers have been steadily rising, as the proportion of population with eating disorders doubled among both men and women from 1995 to 2005, and has continued to increase since (EDV 2013). Because of the numerous health risks associated with eating disorders, including muscle loss and weakness, osteoporosis, low blood pressure, heart disease, and sometimes suicide and death, the rise of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder are important social problems affecting Australian society (NEDA n.d.). My study will seek to understand the various social factors that cause one to develop an eating disorder. I will administer three surveys to a large, random sample of Australian citizens. The first survey will test the individual’s risk of developing an eating disorder.
