Most recently I have been providing accounting and taxation services for small and start-up companies as well as self-employed individuals. I am fully conversant with U.K. legal, fiscal, and taxation requirements. I understand you require assistance with closing a limited company. A U.K. limited company may be voluntarily dissolved if it has no creditors and not been trading in the 3 months prior to the application. The procedure for having a company dissolved or 'struck off' is relatively straight forward: 1. Submit form DS01 'Application to have a company struck-off' to Companies House, along with GBP10 fee. 2. Send copy of DS01 to all interested parties, in particular HMRC. 3. HMRC will issue 'Notice to deliver a Company Tax return' (CT603) to cover the period from start of the current accounting period to date of application to strike-off. 4. Complete and submit Corporation Tax return (CT600) to HMRC. 5. HMRC, once happy all tax affairs have been finalised, will notify Companies House that company strike-off may proceed. 6. Companies House strikes company off. The actual striking-off will occur no less than three months from the date of application. While preparing this proposal, I understand, or have assumed that: - all statutory filings are up to date - the company is not registered for VAT
