Data Scrape for Large List of Companies

Data scrape from an online database for 1,750 of companies. Please see detailed instructions. ## Deliverables 1. Open internet browser. Go to [[login to view URL]][1] and login (login information will be provided after the project has been accepted) 2. Open the attached Excel file titled CompanyLists4vWorker 3. Under the column headed Company Name in the Excel file, copy the first company name listed and paste it into the search box on the CapitalIQ website and hit search 4. If a company record automatically pops up, skip to step #6 5. Select the company from the results provided that best matches the company name that you search with 6. Record the CapitalIQ company name you have selected in the Excel file in the column headed CapIQ Name. 7. At the top of the screen next to the Company Name, it will say Private Company Profile or Public Company Profile. Go into the excel file and record whether it is a Public or Private company in the column headed Public/Private 8. Just under the Company name at the very top, there will be a tab title Website. Copy the website address given and paste it into the Excel file in the column headed Website. If no information is provided by CapitalIQ, leave it blank in Excel. 9. Just beneath the Website tab in CapitalIQ, there will be a tab Number of Employees. Copy and past that number into the Excel spreadsheet in the column headed # of Employees. If no information is provided by CapitalIQ, leave it blank in Excel. 10. 5 rows beneath the tab/row titled Website in CapIQ, there will be a similar tab/row headed Year Founded. Record the year provided in Excel in the column headed Year Founded. If no information is provided by CapitalIQ, leave it blank in Excel. 11. In CapIQ towards the middle of the page, there will be a heading titled Primary Office Location. The address will be formatted American-style. Street Address, City, State, Zip, Country. Example: 1111 Avenue Suite 44, San Francisco, CA, 94105, United States. If no information is provided by CapitalIQ, leave it blank in Excel. 12. In the same Primary Office Location section, there will be a phone number and fax number provided. Copy and paste both into excel spreadsheet under the matching headings. If no information is provided by CapitalIQ, leave it blank in Excel. 13. Just below the Primary Office Location, there will be a section headed Financial Information (Reported Currency). Copy and paste each number for Total Revenue, Gross Profit, Net Income, Operating Income, and EBITDA. If no information is provided by CapitalIQ, leave it blank in Excel. 14. Further down the page towards the bottom, there will be a section headed Key Executives and Professionals. The names are formatted Last Name, First Name. Copy and pasted the First Name into the column headed First Name. Repeat for Last Name and for corresponding Title.
