Apple and Tech Online Beat Writer / Reporter / Blogger (AppleInsider)

Support the managing editors of [login to view URL] in covering the Apple news beat Monday through Friday from 8am ET to 5PM ET, all from the comfort of your home (or workplace of your choice). As part of the AppleInsider editorial team, you'll be tasked with covering the ins and outs of the world's largest and most innovative company, producing 3 to 5 stories a day. From digging for details on Apple's future product plans to reviewing the latest Apple TV, you'll have an opportunity to tackle all the news and newsworthy topics that an interested public want to hear about most. AppleInsider editors also have an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of additional mediums, from the publication's leading weekly podcast, to digital video production and social media engagement. This entry level position offers room for advancement based on performance. Applicants should be self-motivated, responsible and exceptionally hungry for success. Responsibilities: -Discover, pitch, research and write journalistic articles suitable for publication on AppleInsider, following AP style -Locate and/or compose captivating images for each article -Conduct phone and email interviews with sources and industry figures -Work with AppleInsider's editors on breaking news and the Apple news beat, adding depth to existing coverage -Assist with social media to help spread AppleInsider's engagement across the Apple and Tech communities -Find innovative and new ways to report the news and engage with the communities, establishing credible coverage on the beat Requirements: -The ideal candidate will have a strong nose for news, and a knack for explaining complex technologies in clear terms -Ability to work independently and react quickly, turning out clean copy in a face-paced environment -Bachelor's Degree in journalism is a plus -Minimum 1 year daily online writing experience -The ability to self-direct, work independently, and meet deadlines -A deep knowledge of -- and interest in -- Apple, its product families and all the latest rumors -Proven commitment to accuracy -Ability to communicate effectively both on and offline -Attention to detail -Stay on top of industry issues and trends -Bring your own personality and creativity to our news team -Exceptional typing skills and a strong vocabulary
