I need a simple application that I can run (win xp), which will change the file names in an incremental value. This is not complicated to do, I would do it myself if I had time but do not.
please read these instructions thoroughly.
1) Use of wildcard (*) character is a MUST
I have a very large amount of files in a consistant folder structure. For example
folder1/subfolder1/sisterfolder1/50 FILES HERE
folder1/subfolder2/sisterfolder1/20 FILES HERE
folder2/subfolder1/sisterfolder1/70 FILES HERE
ETC....
What I need to be able to do is specify the path using wildcards. example
C:/Applications/Project1/*/*/*
the third asterisk is the folder the files are located. If there are 10 files, they need to be renamed as ... [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] etc.
This program must go through every available folder.
It must not change the extension of the file. Only the name. If it is a txt file, it must remain as a txt file, just renamed accourdingly.
I don't care what order they are renamed as. You could sort the files by name and rename that way.
I cannot stress this enough. If i choose to rename the files in ---
c:/Project1/*/*/* It must ONLY rename files that is under the 3rd asterisk. Not the 1st or 2nd. The last asterisk is where the files are. I do have other files inside the parent folders that I donot want changed!
Also, the amount of subfolders may change. So the filepath must be something I can edit before I run the program. It should ask me the file path prior to execution.
Some may be C:/Project1/*/* others may be C:/Project1/*/*/*/*/*
If you donot understand, please send me a pm for claification.
I am not looking to spend alot of money on this program max of $35
Delivery:
You must be able to complete this project within 24 hours from accepting the project.
I have the money in GAF Escrow, and will deposit once you accept.
all rights will be released to me upon completion.
This must be fully functional (i must test it) prior to me releasing the escrow.
If you need any further explanation. Go to [login to view URL]
read the first user comment: it says
<?php
$paths = glob('my/*/dir/*.php');
?>
$paths will contains paths as following examples:
- my/1/dir/[login to view URL]
- my/bar/dir/[login to view URL]
- my/bar/dir/[login to view URL]
this is similar to the function that I need. But it must rename any file (if you add the option for, any file or specific, thats fine. But most importantly, any file).
