Need a simple program created. Program will run on a Windows (7 or 8) platform and communicate via RS-232 to one of our pieces of equipment. I am going to start with a rework of an existing application written in Visual Basic. You will be able to run the application and see how it works. I want the program written in C/C++ using a popular compiler that we agree upon. The program will retrieve key settings from one of our pieces of equipment. Next, you will allow the user to change these settings then upload the changes when the user presses the Update button. Visual Basic application to be converted: [login to view URL] I have included this file in this upload but I am not sure it uploaded correctly. Finally, when the application is completed, I will receive all ownership rights to this application since I am paying for its development.

Do you have any source code for the visual basic application? In what way you communicate with the device? COM ports? FTDI?

I have extensive experience developing software for serial communiations using Visual Studio, both for commercial products and for my own electronic designs. If I win this project, I suppose you will give me complete information about communications protocol. GUI design will be, more or less, as in the Visual Basic application, unless we agree another face. I propose to develop with Microsoft Visual Studio 10 and I will give you the complete source code.
