First, my Father makes excellent delicious vegetarian recipes for my family, we can't help but love them. On my returning to home after a year away coincides with 10 continuous Buddhist vegetarian days, all tasty meat-fish-stuff -like-that food of Mom is spared for Dad's vegetables and tubers, and I ate like a horse, and even become fitter and stronger - body and mind :) We are an Southeast Asian family, so our food is not very dairy or bread, and no pasta certainly :)
Second, for meat-and-stuff diet, my Mom makes low-fat and easily quickly fantastically-cooked meals, and barely anyone ever complains my Mom's food: simple and inimitable. No exaggeration! But I believe Mom's methods would make busy (or lazy) bees love cooking ( a little bit) more (including me).
Last, my family has the same principle with food: the more sugar you eat, the more you make an idiot of yourself.
