Book layout/typesetting Small publisher is getting ready to print a book. We need a person experienced in laying out a book/ typesetting. This person has to be experienced with the print book industry and understand the conventions, layouts and procedures required to make a book "look like a book"! This book is primarily text. It will have five to ten sample documents in it, such as letters, and one computer screen layout--very simple. We have some flexibility with the design/layout, and will listen to your suggestions. Please do not respond if you are simply a good graphic artist who thinks he can do this. If you can't provide samples, do not respond. If you are not sure what it is I am talking about, do not respond! Preference will be given for familiarity with U.S. book industry. Required: layout for a short book of, probably, 100 pages; 10 chapters, 7 short appendices; front and back matter. Book will be released initially as an e-book, with an 8.5 x 11 format, and then as an 8.5 x 5.5 trade paperback and a hard cover of 6 x 9, and a giant print version of 8.5 x 11.
