Build a Website - Squarespace or WordPress?

ME

I am starting a new business creating custom furniture. I need a professional website to serve as my online showroom.

MY CURRENT SITE

A few months ago I created my own website using Weebly’s interface as it was more user friendly, stylish and customizable than any WordPress template I could find. I have purchased a domain name, and will need hosting ([url removed, login to view] perhaps?). The site has been password protected so I will attach screen captures below.

MY DILEMA(s)

Unfortunately I have been told the excessive code for this WYSIWYG site makes it less optimal for search engines to find, and that I would be well advised to move to a WordPress platform. The fact the WYSIWYG option requires maintenance of two versions of the site to be optimized for mobile and desktop viewing is an added inconvenience I could do without.

After researching others options I am tempted by SquareSpace, but wonder if this might also result in a similar experience for search engine results (due to the extra coding) as that of Weebly? If so, should I go with WordPress? The verdict is still out!

MY FUTURE SITE

I have limited experience of WordPress and none using SquareSpace. I require a helping hand to get a new site up and running with the help of a web/graphic designer. They will offer both a technical and artistic expertise and guide me in setting up a suitably responsive site that reflects my professional ethics, showcases my work effectively using photo and video, integrates with multimedia and is flexible enough to enable e-commerce at some future date, possibly with a combined accounting option.

MAINTENANCE

I expect to update the site (text/images/video/pages/blog etc.) myself once it is live and to have peace of mind over it’s stability, security, speed/bandwidth, and long term potential.

Do you think you could advise and set me on the right path? If so I’d appreciate hearing from you.
