Basic Cordova App having Push Notification, Contacts Sync and Location Sync

Hi, I am currently learning cordova. I have started with a basic cordova app that uses Firebase Push Notification. But currently it doesn't receive notification when the app is closed. So I want it to have push notification even when the app is closed and also the callback to the push notification i.e on clicking the push notification in system tray it should open the app and display the message. The app should also access the contacts on the phone and geo-location and sync it with the database. I don't want any framework to be used as I intend to learn the basics of cordova development from this code. It should use jquery ajax for the sync part. The server side should be in php. I will share the current basic app and also provide you the access to hosting where you can deploy the app and test it.
