I am trying to geocode an address using the yahoo geocoding api which works great but i cannot retrieve the node values from the xml result that is returned.
Here is an example of the Yahoo query which returns an xml result:
<[login to view URL],4c%20Marbella%20Spain>
I am using the following ASP in order to call up the xml data.
The Object works fine and I can retreive results from the API but I cannot extract the Latitude and Longitude values from with the nodes of the ResponseText.
The goal of this project is to:
1) be able to write out to my page the latitude and longitude.
2) if there is an error with the address being geocoded then i want the latitude and longitude to return 0

address = "Jacinto Benavente 5,4c Marbella 29600 Spain"
strURL = "<[login to view URL]>="& key & "&location=" & address
Dim objXML
Set objXML=[login to view URL]("MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.3.0")
[login to view URL] "GET", strUrl, False
[login to view URL]
geocoderesult = [login to view URL]
latitude=[login to view URL]("/ResultSet/Result/Latitude")
latitude=[login to view URL]("/ResultSet/Result/Longitude")
[login to view URL] "THE LATITUDE IS" & latitude & "<br>"
[login to view URL] "THE LONGITUDE IS" & longitude & "<br>"
Set objXML=Nothing
