September 8th, 2004-- Instead of having the developer build the application from scratch, I'd prefer the bidder to employ typo3 (<[login to view URL]>) as the primary mechanism for this system. The end to end requirements will still be the same, but I would like the developer to build the application upon the typo3 framework utilizing typo3's native sub-site structure for the multiple websites. This means that you will still be responsible for layout, templates, and graphics, but some of the framework referenced in my original RFP such as roles and navigation will no longer be valid as they are incorporated into typo3 natively. I am expecting this to be a much smaller project on the front end for the winning bidder so feel free to rescind or adjust your bids accordingly. Obviously, the winning bidder will be used for several other add-on projects if sites prove successful. =========================================== Assist Website Network ??" This is a website that will be used as 5 or more integrated websites including [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and mysqlsassist.com. You are bidding on the entire construction from graphics to code all the way through deployment. Management will be an option upon completion. Don’t try to visit these sites as they do not yet exist, I just own them. So the idea is: I will use the same backend and enable the same registration and access to all users throughout the sites. I would prefer the site to run on JSP but I will accept PHP programmer’s bids as well. I am an experienced php and jsp programmer but I just don’t have the time to build this system that’s why this project has found its place on rent-a-coder.com. I do, however, have several tutorials and real world examples I’d like to enter into this framework once complete. So, now that I’ve given away the farm, let’s get to it…. ## Deliverables * Object oriented architecture a must. * Single database shared among all sites. A site identifier will allow us to maintain a single database while differentiate data among sites. * Advertisements will be linked to [login to view URL] based off of web services by keyword. The sites will be based on cross-linking with major vendors to generate per-click revenue. Where ever possible I would like to specify what I would like to call an “AdvertisementID?? which should load the proper advertisement from the database based on what the user is viewing or pull, via web services, the advertisement directly from [login to view URL] * Tree (multi tiered) design wherever possible. I have build many websites and thick client applications and I am always perplexed by the limitations of the drop down list. I am a firm believer that all data should be represented in a tree format as opposed to a list view. * Navigation: the core of this site will be the navigation. Navigation items will be tied to every item from forums to tutorials. This will eliminate the need to create unnecessary “categories?? at the lower levels while enabling us to utilize the functionality that will be build into the navigation items. * User Profile Self Administration * Dynamic/Virtual web pages (<[login to view URL]>or <http://www.jspassist.com/page.jsp=123>where 123 is the page id) * Template Page: Hard code template. Often times we are required to create a page such as a popup window or a flash presentation or even a macromedia contribute page that can’t utilize the “virtual?? presentation layer. In this case, I would like these pages to use the same template as the dynamic pages described above for their security and navigation, but still allow custom coding on the inner region of these “named?? pages. * Code Sharing Module will allow registered users to upload files to share code along with a description. * Roles ??" Again, the ability add roles to one another in a tree view fashion where the top level of the system is the most flexible where the lower branches of the tree become the most secure. Membership further to the right will automatically give you access to the items on the left as you move up that branch of the tree. Out-of-the-box the role based access must offer these initial tiers of access, basically as a database record per role on the user’s profile that gives them Read/Write/Execute/Delete privileges on that page. * Forum: The crux of any assist or training website is the forum. I would like a full featured forum section that is fully integrated with both the navigation and thus the advertisement portion of the site. * Meta tags and search engine support. * For the graphics and html I am open to your creativity but I’d like to keep it very simple. Dreamweaver based development is acceptable but I’d prefer hand coded pages. * Search * Web Based Administration which logs date/time of all updates in a history table that is unique for each item. (navigation_history, forum_history) * * * All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
