We are seeking an Asterisk professional to remotely install and completely configure our Asterisk Server & AstBill and any supporting software that may be necessary (SQL, etc). We will install a 4-port Digium T1 card and a fresh copy of Fedora (you may request a different flavor of Linux) and you will do the rest via SSH. We are a WISP and we want to be able to provide local phone service to our customers. We are also a paging company and have over 10 different exchanges available for us to use (that’s 100,000 numbers).
## Deliverables
AstBill & Asterisk should be set up in such a way that our secretary can assign DID numbers to people, setup caller ID information, voicemail, check usage, bill based on usage, and all the other features that Asterisks & AstBill support (voicemail, caller ID, call forwarding, 3 way calling, etc.) via a web-based GUI. Basically all the features that are available with most ITSP, should be available to our customers, and it is your job to set it up correctly. All possible compression codecs should be installed as well.
All outgoing calls should be via one of our SIP / IAX providers and provide proper call costing based on available trunks and record call details for billing purposes with AstBill.
Important details and items to be completed:
Currently we have two T1 lines coming directly in to our paging terminal (for service to 5 different exchanges per T). We would need Asterisk configured in such a way that we could plug those incoming lines directly in to the Digium card in the Asterisk server, and then be able to plug another two lines in the free T1 ports on the card (these lines would go to our paging switch). The Asterisk would need to forward all incoming data with a Suffix of less 5000 to the paging terminal (over 5000 would be used to provide service to customers via the Asterisk switch).
For Example: If someone were to dial (NPA) Prefix-3333 it would be forwarded to the T card, which is plugged in to the paging switch. If someone were to dial (NPA) Prefix-7777, the call would be dealt with accordingly with the Asterisk switch. This is a VERY IMPORTANT POINT as our paging service cannot see ANY downtime. If you will need to experiment, we will have to do it late at night (EST).
You should be VERY Fluent in English. I can’t deal with lots of wasted time due to bad grammar, and language-based misunderstandings.
After all set-up and configuration is complete, we will want you to provide support and system updates, etc… We will pay $50 per hour for maintenance and support after the initial set-up and installation is complete.
