DirectShow Source Filter

The DirectShow source filter will read mpeg-2 data from a video DVD and pass the data downstream in the filter graph. The filter will use our existing static library which will handle the DVD reading.

Specs:

· Written in C++ with Visual Studio 2005 and the latest Platform SDK from Microsoft

· Code must be well commented

· Non-Unicode

· Supports Windows 2000\XP\Vista

· Compatible with 3rd party decoder codecs

· Pull filter

· Uses 1024 Studios’ existing DVD reading static library (note: this library reads the data by DVD sector in 2048 byte chunks)

· Supports absolute\relative seeking with no delays

· Supports rewind and fast forward

· Exports some custom interfaces (declarations provided by 1024 Studios)

o Interface to directly set the DVD drive, titleset, title, audio index, and subtitle index

o Interface to set the logging folder

o Interface to retrieve the title length (title length retrieved from 1024 Studios’ DVD reading library provided)

· The filter will be associated with files ending with a .ddc extension and will load these files and parse them (ddc files are simple text files containing a DVD drive letter, titleset number, title number, audio index, and subtitle index which are all comma delimited)
