Freeze mail generation script. We are in need of an application written in C++ that will be able to generate mail messages at 30,000 per minute (500 per second). The application would need to incorporate to ether a flat text file or MS SQL database that it would pull data from. Upon creation, the message would be sent via SMTP to our farm of SMTP servers where it would be spooled for delivery. The following is a time line of the application…. Mail creation admin (already built on Win2K) Mail generation script (programmer would be responsible for) Network load balancer served out to server farm for delivery (we have) Other Requirements ================== * Must be able to send at 30000 per minute (500/sec) * Must be able to handle unstable network/timeout errors gracefully * Must be able to gracefully stop so that it can restart where it left off * Verbose documentation on usage and configuration * The message is created in multipart message format. Tips/Hints ========== * Use ESMTP and PIPELINING, it is much more efficient. Our servers will support it * Make sure to have some sort of locking/mutex mechanism to prevent the same campaign from being sent multiple times accidentally * This will no doubt need to be a threaded application · The average message size will be around 5K to 6K We have created the application in the past via Perl, ColdFusion and ASP. We have reached limitations of speed built on past platforms. Please contact us with any other questions…..
