We have a customized Joomla installtion with the component EZ Realty. We need a bulk upload utility similar to EZ Populate in OScommerce. The visitor will have to download and fill a pre-defined spreadsheet (.csv) format. Then they will login to their seller profile and click a button for Upload Bulk Listings which will prompt them for their csv file. When they select the file and click upload, it will create the listings in "waiting payment" status and make them available via the seller's my listings page for review.
The spreadsheet will contain ALL the fields associated with the record for a listing and will contain 10 choices for categories. As to the images, the spreadsheet will have a field to place the image name for each of the 12 images.
You can see what fields are required for the listings by visiting [[login to view URL]][1] and browsing.
The visitor will be required to either upload their pictures via FTP, there will be a button for this that when they click it it will auto email them the ftp login and information, or they will put their images on a CD and send to us.
If you have an easier way to do bulk image uploading, we are open to hearing about it.
Then after they run the import script on the spreadsheet, they have the chance to preview and edit their additions, just like when they list in regular mode...however, a pre-negotiated rate will be applied to the listings that contains a discound.
