I require an object -- flash, standalone executable, or any other format that meets the requirements to follow -- to function as a dynamic dictionary/glossary.? It will contain a set of terms, definitions, and audio files (pronunciations); one definition and one audio for each term.
Upon loading, it will determine which term(s) to display based on variables passed through the link used to access it. The language used for the linking will be SCORM 2004, which I believe follows HTML linking protocols for all practical purposes.
The details of the display can be discussed later, but here are some guidelines. Terms should display in alphabetical order. If there are more than 20 terms, they should be divided into tabbed pages, with lettered tabs holding each term that begins with that letter. For an example of what a single term, definition and audio might look like, as well as the tabbed interface, see the attached file.
Now, here's where things get tricky. The lists of terms, definitions and audios must be updateable by me, and the functionality to do this should not be accessible (or visible) to the end user. Also, because this will be used across a variety of client systems, the object must be standalone -- in other words, it must not rely internet access or references to external databases or applications.
Because of this, if you do not believe you can create a single object that fulfills these requirements, I am also willing to accept an application that would generate such an object. In other words, the application you create can allow me to update the lists as appropriate, then export an object using those lists that meets the requirements. This "meta-app" may rely on databases, applications, and internet access present on my system; the exported object must not.
Please do not hesitate to ask if there is any further information you need. Thank you!
