I am designing an auto auction website that searches four other car search web sites (which I will provide when you get the winning bid) and compiles the results into a searchable list, which can be sorted by the relevant variables (car type, model, mileage, year, etc...). These listings should be arranged in a table; when a user clicks on one of the listings, it opens up the actual search results from the corresponding page in a frame on my website (so users don't know where the search results are coming from). Each of the car web sites that will be used for my search engine require User ID and Password logins - these will need to be coded into the scripts (also will be provided when you win the bid).
Let me elaborate...
On my website someone will go to my search page (which is where this project begins - you must design this page to have all the necessary search parameters that I will provide) and select from the drop down options a make, model, year, etc for a car, boat, truck, etc... When they have selected their variables and pressed search, the script you design must be able to login to each search engine, query the database for the necessary information, collect the data, combine it with the other search engines, and list it in the sortable database. There will also be an option to just search one of the auto auction sites if they only want to search just one. For example, a person is looking for a 1997 ford taurus with under 100,000 miles. They choose the relevant data from the drop down menu and press search.
In the relevant information for the table (car type, model, year, etc...) there will also be the current bidding price (a 1997 ford taurus with lot number 18347494 is bidding at $2,000 on one of the car auction search sites). Before the bidding price is displayed, the script needs to access a database on MY website and check to see if the price is different (the database will list the link in one field and the bidding price in another) Using the example of the taurus above, the script must recognize that the other website is registering a bid of $2000, and compare that value to the one on my website - let's say it's $2100. The script then displays whichever is higher, in this case $2100. If the table doesn't contain a record of the hyperlink (which happens if there has never been a bid on it) then it will automatically choose the car search engine value ($2000 in the taurus example)
When a user clicks on one of the search results in the table, it should open the link for the search result (on whichever car search engine was used) and display all the information except for any links. In the example above, clicking on the taurus would open a page displaying all the details as well as photos. It should NOT display any links other than the photos.
The table should list 50 results per page. Each listing will contain the year, make, model, price, mileage, and auction end time. Users should be able to sort the TOTAL list (not just the 50 being displayed) by any of theses variables.
I need this done in 3-7 days so if you can't do it quickly then please don't bid. I also need additional work done for this site - if you do well on this you can have the rest of the work as well!
