This should be easy to do and a standard solution or free script might be used. What I need consists of two functions:
1) Depending on the parameter value of the URL which a page is called up with (example: [login to view URL]) I want to show a paragraph of text to the visitor, along with the standard content (no popup, it must become part of the regular webpage).
2) If a visitor links to my page, I don't want him to include his own URL Parameter values in the link. Therefore some script or function on the webpage should make it possible to hide the parameter part of the URL "/?..." in the visitors address bar and just show the main part of the URL ([login to view URL]).
Details to 1):
This should be solved with a script which permits me to save the paragraphs of text which I want to show in a separate location (either inside the script or in a text file on the server) so that robots don't read it. The script should give me the option to define a few parameter values and the according paragraphs to be displayed. For example:
If parameter1=value1 then [.....]
If parameter1=value2 then [.....]
It should be possible to define the paragraphs as HTML text so that I can also vary the format. In case the URL does not have a parameter or the user has JavaScript deactivated the webpage should be shown unchanged, as if there was no script in it at all.
Details to 2):
I don't know how this could technically be solved. I could image that html, php or javascript has some function to delete the parameter part of the URL right after the visitor arrives. This would be the easiest way but if it is not possible then I can image using a forward page:
- The link including the parameter ([login to view URL]) actually goes
to a temporary page where a cookie with parameter1=value1 is set and the visitor is immediately forwarded to [login to view URL], without a delay. On [login to view URL] a javascript checks the cookie value and displays the paragraph of text according to 1). The forward page/cookie solution sounds a little complicated and I would be happy if there is an easier solution.
Function 1) has priority and I am looking for a solution which can be realized with a low budget. If you can realize both functions with a low budget, that would be even better. The webpages were I want to use this are php pages.
Important: If you are seriously interested in this project please describe briefly how you want to realize it. I am not interested in bids with just a short comment like "This is easy. Let's do it." Because then I have no way to tell how serious the offer is.
Thank you.
