Arduino Firmware was compatible to read both Forward and Backward data read without any Start or End Sentinental. Interrupted card swap also possible. we should integrate it to YUN. I have experience with Arduino and magnetic stripe data. How many tracks you wish to read/? I have made firmware in the past for interfacing magnetic head using the Magtek 21006540 or 21006541 chip. I can make your arduino code to communicate with this chip. If you are using some ready built magnetic reader like PS2 or USB i can also help
