Hi,
On my homepage at
on the right side, there is a 'news bar' - that big column where it says "latest news."
I think this is really ugly. It needs to be improved.
Your job is to redesign the right side of this page so that it looks nicer and more professional. You can use whatever you like, but it has to be compatible with all browsers (and no shockwave or java, please). you can use graphics, dhtml, whaetever - as long as it's compatible with all major browsers.
the news doesn't have to be as is - the important thing that users can see headlines.
since the news often changes, it has to be easy for me to add new news items and remove old ones.
BE CREATIVE! it does not have to look at all like the current page there.
NOTE: this is hosted on an IIS server. So, it is possible to make the right "latest news bar" a virtual include rather than just putting it statically into [login to view URL], as it is now.
Even though the exiting site does not really use .css, it is nice if you do if i's appropriate.
BONUS OPPORUNITIES:
1. the navbar on the left side ([login to view URL], in a seperate frame) does not currently work on non-IE browsers. if you can come up with a better looking navigation scheme for that left side that works on all browsers, I'll give you a $7 bonus. Note: I will only give you this bonus if i use your design.
2. the main part of the right frame ([login to view URL]) I think looks pretty good (I mean the part that lists all of the products). however, if you'd like to redesign this, too and I like your redesign, I will give you another $7 bonus. NOTE: your redesign for this will have to be quite good for me to like it!
If you need source art from the existing website, just ask.
If you bid, please provide me with examples of sites that you have worked on.. give EXACT URLs, please. thanks!
Adrian
## Deliverables
Your design will be "ready to be deployed" in Html or whatever. You are NOT just doing a "concept" in Photoshop or whatever.
1. all web code (.html files, etc)
2. all necessary/created art in both web deployable (.jpg/.gif) and working (adobe photoshop / .psd, etc) formats.
## Platform
see description, deliverables.
