We are developing an application that will run on [login to view URL] 4.1. We need help on exactly how to create a simple eVB/VB.Net "hello world" app that will run on this device.
Second
This device is a Winnia I640 which has a built in barcode scanner. We need to programmatically cause that barcode scanner to scan. There is already software on it by the manufacture that will allow us to cause the scanner to scan by pressing a physical button. The problem is that we do not know how to do this. Below is instructions from the manufacture.
On the registry setting, we have
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\KBD]
"BUTTON1"="[login to view URL]"
"BUTTON2"="[login to view URL]"
"BUTTON3"="[login to view URL]"
"BUTTON4"="[login to view URL]"
"BUTTON5"="[login to view URL]"
If you want to write a program to trigger the barcode scanner directly, please write a COM1 "read" application. In this application, if you want to use a button, say BUTTON4 to trigger, please set the registry of "BUTTON4" to be "None". Then the keyboard driver will not activate the [login to view URL] application, but return the code you pressed VK_F3. So after you received VK_F3, you can use DTR_CONTROL_ENABLE to enable the DTR of COM1, then you triggered the barcode. After scanned, the barcode scanner will stop automatically, or you can use DTR_CONTROL_DISABLE to disable the barcode.
