Project Understanding and Scope of Work: Based on the project description, it sounds like I would be representing you as an owner's engineer/project manager during the construction stage of your project. I assume that this will require coordinating schedules, field modifications, design revisions, inspections, material and equipment selection selection and acquisition, etc. via phone, email and in person. I assume that the design is finalized at this point and that you are ready to "break ground" or intend to begin construction shortly. Has the design been reviewed from a value engineering standpoint or is that a service that you are in need of as well? Background: I'm a licensed Civil Engineer in California and Colorado and I currently live in San Diego. I have been involved with a wide variety of projects, both as a structural engineer and project manager. I also have experience with construction inspection, quantity takeoffs and cost estimating. Method: I intend to handle daily communications via text, email and voice calls. I intend to monitor construction progress with weekly site visits and site visits for significant milestones. I will provide a weekly project reports to keep all parties up to date with the activities. I will coordinate any design revisions and submittals with the architect if required.
