HI all, I'm in need that someone create a small class file for C# .Net 2010 compatible and that class file have a public method to get an unique computer ID on any Windows (starting from Windows XP up to Windows 8). The unique ID can be created using the hard disk id, bios id or motherboard id or any other value that would identify that computer uniquely. I accept that if the user format the computer the generated id can change (in case the class get the id form the hard disk). But while the same windows version is kept, the same id should be got from this class. The developer should test the class at least in 3 different computers to make sure the id is correctly generated. He/she can use virtual machines too. I will test on my side too with normal PC and virtual PC. I will require a small project with a form with a button to show the generated ID. The method should work 100% on all the computers and the app can run with admin privileges. Please post your bid using the word 'dragonfly' at the beginning so I know you read the whole text. Thanks

dragonfly Hi I have ready solution from one of my projects. It is based on combing CPU ID, hard drive Id, motherboard Id and network card mac address. It assumes that computer may not to have network interface or some CPU and motherboards can’t return their ID and takes care of this sings. ID will say the same for the same hardware. Also out tests showed that first 3 components is enough (CPU ID, hard drive Id, motherboard Id) in all cases we tried so I can remove part with MAC address if you need to change network card without changing this id (but if this is not required let’s leave for more reliability). Thanks

I have many exp on system programming with c++ and c#. I have also done the similar app before. Something i used to create a unique ID (UID): Network card, HDD serial number, OS Info, CPU Speed (MHz), For Virtual Machine, you have to use BIOS Info, and some info to get the UID.
