Hi. I am a native German living in the UK since 97. I am a in the UK qualified language teacher (PGCE) with Business Studies as my first degree. Before I became a language teacher I worked as a business consultant in the manufacturing / automotive industry. In terms of translations: I have summarized product descriptions into short product descriptions before, translated academic papers and business correspondence. I have not yet translated children's books for pay but I have two kids on my own and needed to translate books for them as not all books come in both languages. Therefore I cannot give you any example. I supported a student in her master paper which compared different translations of Kaestner's 'Emil und die Detektive'.
