The job is to convert an existing website to WordPress. All existing pages and content need to be brought into WordPress, and a custom theme created to match the current site. There are about 60 content pages. We are making the site responsive at the same time, and much of that process is complete. We have a sample responsive page all done for you to use as a model. For clarification, "responsive" means it should look good at all screen sizes. You will be given FTP access and a fresh WordPress install to work with. The site is here: [login to view URL] The responsive sample is here: [login to view URL] Sitemap page: [login to view URL] As shown in the responsive sample, the navigation for smaller screens will just be a link to a sitemap page. The sitemap page is based on the same HTML for the main navigation. The main navigation and sitemap page should both come from the same WordPress menu. There is a slider on the existing home page that needs responsive styling. You can use existing slider code or new code, as long as slider looks the same. There is a media library that currently uses prettyPhoto for video and image overlays. It needs to be recreated in WordPress. [login to view URL] There is a "Dealers" area that you do not have to bring into WordPress for now. That may be an extra job after main job is complete. Job details: - bring all pages and content over from existing site (except dealers area) - add any further styling needed to make all content responsive - upload all graphics for the content into the WP media manager - maintain similar URL structure (minus the ".html") - dropdown menus for large screens that look exactly like sample - setup Retina display quality images for the few graphics that appear in the header for mobile devices (images will be provided) - connect existing search box to WP search function - add sitemap page - add blog area - site needs to look good in IE9+, and usable in IE7+ (responsive sample already does) - site need to look good on computers, tablets, and smart phones (responsive sample already does) Note that existing pages have ".html" extension, but are really created using simple PHP templating. Some pages have PHP to get associated documents from a database, and that code will need to be brought into WordPress.

Hello, Full-time freelance web developer here proficient in PHP, MySQL and Wordpress. After looking at the existing pages and the sample pages you provided, including the pretty photo functionality, here's are the things that I confirm that I will complete: 1. All pages and content to be migrated to Wordpress 2. make the entire site responsive 3. all existing graphics will be uploaded to Wordpress 4. maintain the URL and site structure without the .html (although I can have it maintain the .html extension if you want) 5. use the Wordpress search function 6. create a sitemap 7. create a blog area 8. make sure that site is usable in IE7+ and looks good in IE9+ 9. make site compatible/responsive to computers/tablets and smart phones. 10. The pages that connects to a database to get the associated documents will be recreated in Wordpress. 11. Hello My name is Eva, would be interested in this project. I have only doubts with one tiny issue: the mobile menu to be linked to the sitemap page. It is certainly doable, but I would suggest to have a "true" mobile menu that drops down and basically contains all the links to varoius pages instead of linking it to a sitemap page. I am also a bit curious why you don't want to keep the .html for the pages, as this would be fairly important seo wise. All the pages that are currently indexed by google would have to be redirected to the non. html version, usually done by htaccess, but it is also suggested to keep the htaccess file as small as possible. Having to add 60+ 301 redirects to the htaccess file will make it bigger. With wordpress it is easy to add .html to the end of the pages (not just the blog posts). I would also need to know more about "PHP to get associated documents from a database" to find a way to implement it in wordpress. I bided this job for 30 days, though it shouldn't take quite so long. But I wanted to have enough time to be able to review and correctly test it to work as you requested.
