You cannot derive an indirect cash-flow from a flat transaction list unless every account in the chart of accounts is tagged Operating / Investing / Financing, and unless non-cash items (depreciation, accruals, provisions) are flagged as such. Without that mapping the CF sheet ends up hand-plugged and stops tying the moment you add a row. How I'd build it: 1. One journal table as the single source of truth - date, account, debit, credit, period. Everything downstream reads from it; nothing is typed twice. 2. A chart-of-accounts sheet where each account carries its statement (BS/IS), its sign, and its CF category. Adding an account later is one row, not a formula rewrite. 3. Trial balance, then Income Statement, then the retained-earnings roll-forward, then Equity, then Balance Sheet - in that chain. Retained earnings is computed once and referenced, which is what makes the balance sheet balance rather than balance by luck. 4. Cash-flow (indirect) off the tagged accounts plus opening/closing balances. 5. Dashboard with charts bound to named ranges so they extend when you paste new data. 6. Validation: date inside the open period, account must exist, no duplicate journal ID, debits equal credits per entry. Two things I need from you: your chart of accounts (or a sample), and one period of real transaction data to reconcile the output against. Formula-driven, no macros, unless you want VBA.
