I need a thorough CFD study that compares our current 190 mm external cooling fan assembly with a compact 90 mm exhaust fan for the SIMOTICS M-1PH8 (1PH8186-1FF03-1LA1) servo motor. The goal is to confirm that downsizing the fan does not compromise cooling efficiency and, if possible, to outline any design tweaks that would make the swap viable. Both configurations must be simulated under the exact same operating envelope—ambient temperature range, motor load conditions, and the existing ventilation setup—so the results are directly comparable. I am primarily interested in efficiency, so please place particular focus on airflow distribution, pressure characteristics, and overall thermal performance when interpreting the data. What I expect from you: • A validated CFD model for each fan option (Ansys Fluent, CFX, or comparable solver are all acceptable). • Side-by-side plots and quantitative results for airflow, pressure, and temperature fields. • A short, clear report (PDF) summarizing findings, highlighting whether the 90 mm fan can match or exceed the present cooling performance, and recommending any geometric or operational adjustments needed to meet efficiency targets. • Native simulation files so we can reproduce or extend the work internally. If you have prior experience analyzing electric-motor cooling or similar retrofits, let me know; that will help me judge timeline and depth of analysis.

Hi, I'm very interested in your CFD analysis project. I have extensive experience in CFD simulation, thermal management, and cooling system optimization using ANSYS Fluent/CFX, with a focus on electric motors and industrial equipment. For this project, I can: Develop validated CFD models for both the 190 mm and 90 mm cooling fan configurations. Simulate identical operating conditions, including ambient temperature, motor load, and existing ventilation setup. Compare airflow distribution, pressure drop, velocity fields, and thermal performance. Evaluate whether the 90 mm fan can maintain adequate cooling and identify any thermal risks. Recommend design improvements, such as fan placement, ducting, shrouds, or operating parameters, to optimize cooling efficiency. Deliver a concise engineering report with side-by-side comparison plots, conclusions, and recommendations, along with all native simulation files for future use. Before starting, I would like to review the motor CAD model, fan specifications (P-Q curves), operating conditions, and any available experimental data to ensure the simulation accurately represents real-world performance. I'm available to start immediately and look forward to helping you optimize your motor cooling system. Best regards,

Hi, I have hands-on experience with ANSYS Fluent CFD, particularly airflow and thermal analysis. Recently, I completed Li-ion battery cooling simulations on two different configurations, comparing airflow, pressure, and temperature distributions along with mesh-independence studies. I can similarly simulate both fan configurations under identical conditions, provide clear side-by-side results, and prepare a concise report identifying which option provides better cooling performance. All relevant ANSYS simulation files and result plots will be provided.
