I have a detailed CAD model of a steel hydroelectric gate that needs to be taken through a static structural study in Ansys. The only performance metric that matters right now is an accurate stress distribution under the design head pressure and self-weight; deformation or fatigue can be ignored at this stage. What I will hand over: • Native CAD geometry (step/iges or SolidWorks) • Operating load cases, boundary conditions and material properties (structural steel) What I need in return: • Ansys Workbench project file with a clean, well-constrained static structural setup • High-resolution stress contour plots highlighting critical areas • A brief summary (PDF or Word) explaining mesh strategy, key assumptions and peak stress values, so I can circulate it internally Please keep the workflow fully parametric so we can adjust load magnitudes later without rebuilding the model. If you use APDL commands, comment them clearly. My preference is Ansys 2021 R2 or newer, but let me know if you are on a different version. Deliverables will be reviewed against the provided load cases; the project is complete once maximum stresses are reported and all files open without errors on my end.

Hi there, I can take your CAD model and set up a clean, fully parametric static structural study in Ansys Workbench to accurately evaluate stress distribution under design head pressure and self-weight. The focus will be on reliable stress results only—deformation and fatigue will be excluded as requested. I’ll deliver a well-constrained Ansys project file with a clear mesh strategy, along with high-resolution stress contour plots highlighting critical regions. All load cases will remain parametric so magnitudes can be adjusted without rebuilding the model, and any APDL commands will be clearly commented. You’ll also receive a brief summary (PDF/Word) outlining assumptions, meshing approach, and peak stress values for internal review. I work with Ansys 2021 R2+ and ensure all files open cleanly without errors. Portfolio: https://www.freelancer.in/u/CreativeDesign50 Happy to review your model and load cases and confirm timeline. I specialise in static structural analysis of heavy steel systems where self-weight and pressure loads govern the design, with a primary focus on accurate stress distribution rather than deformation or fatigue behaviour. One of my key recent projects was the structural design and finite element analysis of lead-shielded steel sliding doors for the reactor room of the Mersin Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. Each door leaf weighed approximately 30 tons due to the lead core. The work included rebuilding the structural model, defining realistic boundary conditions, and evaluating stress distributions in steel members, wheel assemblies, and load-transfer components under self-weight and operational loads. The results were documented in a formal static analysis report for technical review. Beyond the nuclear project, I have carried out static analyses for large steel gates, industrial frames, mining facilities, and water-related steel structures, including pool systems and floating pump stations. These studies typically involved hydrostatic pressure, distributed and concentrated loads, and verification of steel sections under service conditions. I work with CAD-based, parametric FEA workflows so load magnitudes and boundary conditions can be adjusted without rebuilding the entire model. My analysis experience includes ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, and SAP2000, selected according to project needs. For this hydroelectric gate study, the work can be performed in ANSYS 2018 .

As an experienced FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER, you might wonder what I can bring to the table for your CAD/CAM project. The answer is simple - my adaptability, problem-solving skills, and keen eye for details have enabled me to ace different projects in and out of my usual domain. Even though my main focus has been on web and mobile app development, I've also effectively handled Ansys simulation tasks like yours in the past. In fact, I've used Ansys for simulations involving structural steel materials, ensuring clean setups and generating meaningful results according to specific project requirements. Diving into your project's requirements, you need someone who can use Ansys Workbench in performance analysis while maintaining a fully parametric workflow. This aligns well with my meticulous approach to design where I always aim for better user experience without compromising on core functionalities. My proficiency in technology products scaling will directly reflect in creating a well-optimized stress model aiding future load adjustments without unnecessary rebuilding. Moreover, coming from a background of intense coding (Python/PHP/Node/C#/Regex), I am well-equipped to identify and clearly comment on APDL commands if any are implemented.

✅ Okay, I got exactly what you’re looking for. I am a professional Mechanical / Structural Simulation Engineer with over 10 years of experience, specializing in ANSYS Mechanical, nonlinear stress analysis, contact modeling, and material failure evaluation. In my opinion, the key to a reliable gate stress simulation is building a realistic boundary condition that truly reflects how the gate is constrained and loaded in the real world. I would focus on capturing contact interactions, hinge or support behavior, and stress concentration zones so the results are not just theoretical but practically useful. This project is very similar to my previous work. I’ve performed multiple ANSYS simulations for steel and composite gate structures, where I modeled detailed geometry, applied operational and extreme load cases, and evaluated stress, deformation, and safety factors to support design decisions. ✅ So, I will divide your project into three major steps. ⚡ Review geometry, material properties, load cases, and operating conditions to confirm assumptions ⚡ Build and validate the ANSYS model, including meshing strategy and boundary conditions ⚡ Run stress simulations, interpret results, and deliver clear plots with engineering conclusions Via private chat or a quick meeting, I can share practical ideas and a solid technical approach for your project, and we can discuss budget and timeline in detail.
