I have a set of crime-incident points and need them transformed into a clear hotspot surface using ArcGIS. The goal is pure spatial analysis: highlight statistically significant clusters so decision-makers can see where crime concentrates and how intensity changes across the city. Scope • Clean and prepare the raw point data if necessary. • Run an optimized Hot Spot Analysis (Getis-Ord Gi*) in ArcGIS Pro—or ArcGIS Online if you prefer—as long as the z-scores, p-values, and confidence bins remain visible. • Style the resulting layer so hot, cold, and non-significant areas are immediately distinguishable. • Package the layer file (or hosted feature layer) together with a short PDF that explains the methodology, parameters, and key findings. Acceptance criteria 1. The map opens without broken paths and shows 90 %, 95 %, and 99 % confidence levels. 2. All processing steps are documented well enough for me to replicate them. 3. Symbology and legends are reader-friendly on screen and printable at A3. Send the final MXD/APRX or hosted URL, the exported map (PNG or PDF), and the brief report. Once I confirm the hotspots match the statistical output and cartography guidelines above, the project is complete.
