This position is not for beginners. Not for reporters who shy away from cold calls. And not for writers who hope stories will simply fall into their laps. This is for the professional who knows how to do the real work. More than 52 cases await the right journalist. Each one demands rigor, discernment, and the ability to follow a thread until it becomes a story that can stand on its own. ⸻ What This Role Demands * Relentless curiosity. You know how to ask the difficult questions with respect and precision. * Cold-calling stamina. You are comfortable picking up the phone, even when the person on the other end may not want to talk. * Experienced interviewing skills. You’ve handled sensitive conversations, reluctant participants, and complex narratives. * Strong ethical backbone. Integrity guides your work. Your commitment to accuracy is unwavering. * Narrative intelligence. You can take raw interviews, documents, and fragments of truth and shape them into a compelling, fact-anchored story. * Dependability. If it feels like home, they may be exactly who we’re looking for. ⸻ What You Will Be Doing * Conduct structured outreach to individuals central to each case. * Email, call, and follow up until interviews are properly secured. * Cross-reference accounts, identify patterns, and verify the credibility of information gathered. * Write stories that reflect depth, care, and the seriousness these cases deserve. * Maintain full independence and professional judgment throughout the project. ⸻ Compensation Designed for Professionals Each assignment follows a milestone-based structure: * $300 upon accepting the assignment and initiating outreach. * $300 after completing all interviews and submitting your notes. * $300 upon publication of the final article.
