I have a radio air-check that was originally dubbed much too fast, leaving my voice chipmunk-high. The tape is under 30 minutes long, and I need it copied onto a fresh cassette while being played back at a slower, correct speed so the result sounds like my natural speaking voice. During the pass-through, please apply light noise reduction to tame hiss and any obvious hum—nothing aggressive that would thin out the audio, just a tasteful clean-up so the final cassette plays clearly on a typical home deck. You’ll need a deck with variable speed (or any professional solution that can achieve precise slowdown) plus a reliable noise-reduction chain—Dolby, iZotope, Cedar, or similar are all fine. I’m happy to approve a short sample before you record the full side to be sure the pitch is right. Deliverable: one quality-grade Type I or Type II cassette with the corrected, cleaned recording, clearly labelled and ready for postage back to me.

Hello, Thank you for outlining your project so clearly. I understand you need a precise speed correction for your radio air-check, restoring your voice to its natural tone, with careful noise reduction, and a fresh cassette as the deliverable. With extensive experience in audio restoration, analog tape transfers, and mastering, I’ve handled numerous archival projects where authenticity and audio integrity are critical. I work with high-quality decks featuring variable pitch control, ensuring I can dial in the exact playback speed. For noise reduction, I use a blend of professional hardware (Dolby, DBX) and advanced digital tools like iZotope RX, allowing subtle hiss/hum cleanup without sacrificing the body of your voice. I’m happy to provide an audio sample for approval before finalizing the transfer. Once you’re satisfied with the pitch and clarity, I’ll record the corrected audio onto your choice of Type I or Type II cassette, label it clearly, and package it securely for return. My aim is to preserve the character of the original broadcast while delivering a clear, natural-sounding recording suitable for playback on any home deck. I look forward to helping you restore this recording and am happy to discuss any specific preferences you have for the process.

Hello, Thank you for outlining your cassette transfer and speed correction needs so clearly. I understand you’re looking to restore your radio air-check to its natural pitch, with a light touch on noise reduction, and deliver the result on a fresh, labelled cassette. With over a decade in audio production and restoration, I’ve handled numerous analog-to-analog transfers, including challenging pitch and speed corrections from legacy media. I use professional decks with fine pitch control, and my workflow incorporates both analog and digital noise reduction options like Dolby, iZotope, and Cedar—ensuring a clean but authentic sound that preserves the warmth of your original broadcast. Here’s my approach: I’ll first audition a short test segment, adjusting playback speed until your voice sounds natural, then apply gentle noise reduction to reduce hiss without sacrificing audio quality. Once you approve the sample, I’ll transfer the full recording to a high-quality Type II cassette using calibrated equipment, label it clearly, and prepare it for safe return shipping. Your satisfaction is paramount, so I’m happy to work closely with you on pitch and sound preferences before finalizing the transfer. Looking forward to helping you bring this recording back to life in the best possible quality.
