Hi Employer, I am not a Architectural engineer but a mechanical engineer. Looking through your images attached, I have different opinion as you are living in AUS. Being seen a pictures attached, I see the door misshapen or clash starts from the bottom of door (you defined as shutter). I also notice door frame has crack underneath of the right side door. Couldn't tell the right side one. You are trying to replace one one and install new metalic or copper type window(?). However, the point is this metalic frame will have more significant weight compared to wooden one. You will have to end up with replacing door frame (rectangular edge). Eventually, it will cost more than expected. Once ignored this simple consideration, first facade after installation will be fascinating, however it will lead to another design request or repair issue due to the weight causing creaking again. 1. first option : - Grind to suit door frame and shutter considering you have a metal workers at handy. This will also not be simple task as wooden door gets very heavy to work inside. Working outside using ladder or Scissor lift .... no comment. - Then fix shutter and add laminate to protect the wooden material with weather. - Measurement is also very important ! 2. Trim or getting rid of above 10.0m high tree (Insurance claim case) Once this has been conjectured and decided, I am very happy to provide design drafting and minor calculation why it should be. I have a small job, and some images are attached to assist in explaining. Essentially, our house is approximately 5.5 years old. We have a balcony on the second floor to which there is a west-facing shutter. This is currently fully integrated into the front facade. Unfortunately, being made of wood, the frame and cladding have become misshapen with rain, making the shutters difficult to open and close easily. Consequently, we would like to remove the shutters and replace them with “feature” shutters, made of aged copper or brass (I’ve added images). We will, of course, require new frames in addition to a new cladding material. I wonder whether you might be interested and available to develop some design drawings for us? We have an architectural metal worker who would be happy to complete the project once drawings are available.
