Was ich mir vorstelle: 1. 2. Automatische Ordner- und Dateibenennung nach Schwimmername (z. B. „Mü[login to view URL]“). 3.

Hello, Your workflow is especially interesting because the challenge isn't simply clipping a livestream—it's reliably detecting each race, naming every file correctly, and producing a reusable system with minimal manual work. Do you already have timing data available, or should the detection rely entirely on the video stream? The solution will be built around FFmpeg and a custom automation script, with OBS-compatible integration if needed. The workflow will monitor the livestream, separate each complete race into individual MP4 files, organize them into swimmer-specific folders, generate consistent filenames, and provide an easy configuration file so adding swimmers or adjusting timing requires only a few edits. Everything will be fully documented for future competitions. Before building the complete workflow, I'll prepare a small proof-of-concept using a sample recording so you can verify race detection, file naming, and folder organization. Once the demo meets your expectations, I'll complete the full automation, test it thoroughly, and refine it through revisions until the process runs smoothly and reliably. Please send me a message so we can discuss your streaming setup, timing method, and future upload requirements. I'll explain the proposed architecture, estimated implementation time, and how the system can later be extended with highlight detection and automatic media library uploads. MD SHER-E ALI

The interesting technical question here is how the script knows a race started and ended. Three realistic approaches, each with different accuracy and complexity: Timing system integration (most accurate) — if the pool uses Colorado, ARES, or Omega swimming timing, those systems output start/stop signals via serial or LAN protocol. Hooking into that gives millisecond-accurate cuts and swimmer/lane assignments for free from the meet management software. Audio + video hybrid (most portable) — detect start horn via FFT peak in the audio track (very reliable, horn is unmistakable), detect race end via touchpad flash on video or by looking for swimmer motion stopping at the wall. Works on any stream, no hardware integration. Manual segment markers + OCR — cheapest to build, requires you to press a hotkey at start of each race; OCR on the results overlay after the race pulls swimmer names automatically.

Hello I understand you want an automated system to clip each swim lap from your livestream into separate MP4 files, sorted by swimmer name, with minimal manual intervention. I’ve worked extensively with FFmpeg and scripting for video processing and automation, which fits perfectly here. My approach would be to develop a script that detects swim laps using timestamps or visual cues, automatically creates clips during or right after the stream, and organizes them in folders named by swimmer. I’ll also build an easy config file for adding new swimmers or adjusting timing formats, plus clear documentation for reuse. Could you share details on how your current livestream timestamps or overlays work? That’ll help me estimate the effort precisely. Best regards, AbdulHamid

Hi We are available to take this on and get your automated video-clipping system working perfectly. The main issue with partially built streaming pipelines is usually timestamp synchronization or stream segmentation not lining up for live race windows specifically. Are you planning to use Python with FFmpeg for better frame-accurate clipping and do you want the metadata and swimmer names pulled from a live start list CSV or manual entry? I recently fixed a similar automated video-processing pipeline for a sports broadcasting firm that needed custom stream metadata injected into segmented outputs. I used Python and FFmpeg to hook into the live ingestion stream and built a script that validated timestamps before using segment muxing methods to update the video files. I corrected their configuration structure to ensure the output files were correctly sorted and named across different storage volumes. My fix stopped their event footage from being misaligned during sync and made the whole media archiving process way faster for their team. We are eager to discuss the project further. Reach out to initiate a conversation! Best regards, Tech Ariba LLC

Hi, good day.
