Quick queries: "Modify an existing Windows Server service written in C# that sends and receives AWS SQS messages containing vehicle data from our partner and writes them out to physical XML files. " -Is it Read from partner service and write in XML file over server or directly AWS SQS messaging? -Is it recieving any things from AWS SQS? -Is it send data over only AWS SQS or is it send to our partner service as well? -Is partner system providing data over Web API? "The Windows service will need to be modified to interface with our new Loan Management System using both XML and JSON using a RESTful API provided by our Loan Management software." -Does this mean we need to read data from one more system like “new Loan Management System” and do same stuff with modifying current window service Is current system have any error trapping and logging functionality or it's new to develop? Need to understand flow of the system we have three entities please provide detail functionality of all system. 1) Loan Management System 2) our partner 3) Window service Once we get more detail and answers, we will be on the same page of understanding and then I can be able to share suggestions. I am familiar with AWS SQS, RESTful web services, JSON and XML documents/serialization and SQL server. I would propose creating two new interfaces, one for the API client and one for a service talking to the SQL server and provide each implementation in a seperate project. For the SQL DB connection would you send over a sample DB or would I get access to that server? For the REST API you prob. send over some documentation I presume?
