We are redesigning a thin-walled, injection-molded clip that must accept and securely hold round metal bars from 3/8 in up to 0.800 in in diameter without cracking or shearing off. To validate the concept, I need a full dynamic, non-linear finite-element analysis carried out on the SolidWorks models I’ll supply. Material will be comprised of a copolymer Polypropylene, a stress-strain curve is available if needed but would suggest using a trusted material library if available as it an older lot and may not reflect our current material. The bar will have a rough surface finish and the product in general is intended to be a single use product, that being said the clip may see a couple of cycles so that the end user can move and adjust the product as needed. Key technical focus • Tensile strength and flexural strength of the plastic are the primary failure modes we’re watching for in each simulation run. • verifying that the clip will not fail given the geometry and maximum dia of the bar • Impact resistance is less critical for now, but results that also touch on it are certainly welcome if it comes “for free” in your workflow. Analysis workflow Three models will be provided, I expect several design iterations of the most promising design. After each run we may tweak wall thicknesses, fillets, or snap features based on your findings, then send back the revised CAD. Please tell me: - typical solver hours you need per iteration, - your turnaround time from receiving a new file to delivering an updated report, - the FEA package you’ll use (ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation or any comparable tool is fine), - any likely communication delays so I can plan around the PST time zone. Deliverables per iteration 1. A concise PDF report with stress/strain plots, displacement data, and clear pass/fail commentary on tensile and flexural criteria. 2. Recommended geometry or material adjustments to reach target safety factors. 3. Native result files so I can archive or review them in-house. Timeline I’d like to kick this off immediately and keep the loop tight until the clip proves reliable, so please bid with your earliest start date and estimated calendar time for the first cycle. If any other information will help you refine your estimate, just let me know and I’ll respond quickly. I look forward to collaborating with you on this analysis. Attached is an example of the FEA problem for illustrative purposes only; please note the actual design is different than the one shown. ***PLEASE NOTE: a similar project was proposed as an hourly project, but after some consideration decided to change it to a one time project to simplify the payment/delivery structure of the project. Thank you for your understanding and your bid on the proposal.

Hello, I understand you’re redesigning a thin-walled, injection-molded polypropylene clip and need a full dynamic, non-linear FEA to verify it can securely accept 3/8 in to 0.800 in rough-surface metal bars without cracking or shearing, even with limited adjustment cycles. I have experience running non-linear plastic deformation analyses on snap-fit and clip-style components where tensile and flexural failure are the primary concerns. I can evaluate stress–strain behavior using a trusted PP copolymer material model (library-based, unless you prefer your curve), include contact with surface roughness effects, and verify performance at maximum bar diameter. I typically work in ANSYS / Abaqus / SolidWorks Simulation depending on model needs. For each iteration, I provide a concise PDF report with stress/strain plots, displacement data, clear pass/fail commentary, and actionable geometry recommendations (wall thickness, fillets, snap features). Native result files will also be delivered. I’m comfortable with multiple fast iterations, tight feedback loops, and PST coordination. I can share expected solver hours, turnaround time, and earliest start immediately. Portfolio: https://www.freelancer.in/u/CreativeDesign50 Best regards, Kirandeep Kaur

Hello, We are Vutuk Design and Media, an engineering consultancy with a dedicated focus on structural simulation and product reliability. We noticed you have re-posted this project to simplify the structure, and we are eager to assist you. Our team brings over 15 years of collective experience in FEA, ensuring that complex plastic behaviors like stress relaxation and snap-through buckling are modeled accurately. Project Execution Plan: Solver Hours: 2-4 hours per iteration. Turnaround: Updated reports delivered within 24 hours of file receipt. Software: SolidWorks Simulation Premium. Communication: We have team members who can coordinate during PST business hours to ensure no delays. Before we launch the first study, we have a few queries: Material Model: Does the plastic have significant glass fiber content (e.g., PA66-GF30)? If so, we may need to consider anisotropic properties. Failure Criteria: Do you prefer we use Maximum Principal Stress (for brittle failure) or Von Mises (for ductile yield)? Boundary Conditions: Is the metal bar considered "rigid" for this analysis, or does it deform slightly as well? Batch Processing: If you have multiple design candidates ready, can we run them in a batch over the weekend to save time? We are ready to act as your on-demand simulation lab. Please visit our profile and portfolio to review our engineering capabilities.
