When a few drops of essential oil are added, the block releases fragrance slowly for almost a year—exactly the performance my partner and I now want to reintroduce to the market. What we need first is a thorough chemical composition analysis of this legacy material so we can recreate it for commercial use. I can ship several intact samples to you for lab work. Your findings should allow us to reproduce the block with three non-negotiable qualities: • It must retain the same long-lasting scent-absorption and slow-release behaviour. • Wherever possible, the formulation should rely on environmentally friendly constituents and processes. • The bill of materials must keep overall unit costs competitive for retail. Typical techniques such as GC-MS, FTIR, NMR, SEM, TGA or DSC are all fair game—as long as the final report clearly identifies ingredients, approximate percentages, and any relevant physical or thermal characteristics that affect moulding or longevity. Acceptance criteria 1. A detailed lab report outlining the chemical make-up, binders, fillers, and any surface treatments. 2. A reproducible formulation (ratios by weight/volume) with sourcing notes for each component. 3. Recommendations on manufacturing parameters—pressure, temperature, curing time—to achieve the same density and porosity that enable the year-long diffusion. 4. Brief notes on sustainability improvements or alternative green substitutes, if you uncover any problematic constituents. Once we validate the results with a small prototype batch, we’ll discuss a follow-on contract for scaling up production. Samples are ready to ship as soon as we confirm your preferred lab address and handling guidelines.
