A current megatrend is the phenomenon of the shared economy. Many well-known examples of start-ups have already been created in this coherence. Nowadays, it is possible to share with others in many fields of the society. MUUVON is following this megatrend, relying on resources that remain unused in many cars, buses or trains. The aim is to share this lost capacity with cus-tomers who want to send any desired object.

MUUVON serves this two-sided market by creating an online application. Once registered, the user can choose if he wants to act as a driver or customer. We will first have a closer look at the driver point of view. In a first step the driver decides, if he wants to offer his service on a route, for example Munich – Berlin, or within a certain radius, in the Munich area. There is also the option to adjust his availability automatically to weekly or even daily trips. The final step for the driver is to state by which vehicle he will be traveling. If the driver decides to choose the option to offer his capacity on a route, he will find a mapping tool similar to Google Maps to set his start and end point. Otherwise he defines his current position and sets certain radius to offer his ser-vice in a surrounding. The driver then determines the period in which his service will be avail-able.

The counterpart is the customer who wants a particular product bought by the driver or wants to send any desired object. In the case of a product purchase, he is using the mapping tool to set the location of the shop where the product is available, then the address to which the purchased product should to be supplied. In addition to the address information the customer describes his product into more detail within the next step. He may enter a link, a photo of the product, the size and its price. At the end the customer set up the price for the delivery he would like to pay for the delivery itself. If a certain product is going to be delivered, the customer can use Google Maps to set up the pick-up and drop off location. The product specification is the same her, as already mentioned before.

A match for both parties will occur when the order of the customer matches to the distance or the surrounding of the driver. The match of the surrounding just happens when the size and weight of the good matches to the drivers’ transportation mode. It will also be possible to match small sections on entire routes. A driver who travels from Munich to Berlin will also get matches for the section Nurnberg to Leipzig. He can even determine how much he is willing to deviate from his original route.

In the best case the driver will get several offers for his route and can therefore decide which delivery he is accepting and which he is declining. If he is not satisfied with his payment, then he can set up a counter offer to negotiate with the customer. The customer will see the driver’s counter offer and then he can also decide if he wants to accept it or not. Thus, an individual price for each delivery is found, which meets the customer’s and the driver’s expectation.
