Reposting because my last editor fell through:
I am looking for someone to edit my book. I have a list of things that I would like to add/change about the book, which will be provided at the time of hire. My novel, titled Room 22, is an urban fantasy, and it is the first in a trilogy. The full description can be found on Amazon or my website. It is a little over 30,000 words, and roughly 200 pages after formatting. It has already been published, but I am looking to re-publish the updated version before I publish the second book in the series.
The editing for this book will be extensive, as I am asking that you expand upon the elements already set forth. That means improving upon the characters and their backstory as well as expanding paragraphs, scenes, and chapters. I would like for this book to be longer than it is now (at least 40,000 words would be phenomenal, but that could be asking for too much.) I have a strict deadline of Monday, October 17th. By that Friday, I will have the second book ready to be edited. The deadline for the second book will be Friday, November 11th. I must have both books proofed and ready to sell by December 1st. If you cannot meet these deadlines, then please do not apply for this job.
I have attached a copy of the first chapter, and if I like your proposal, I will ask that you edit this for free so that I can get a feel for your editing style prior to hiring. I would like for it to be edited in Microsoft Word using the "Track Changes" feature as well.
Thank you, and I look forward to reading your responses!

Hi, I can expand your text creatively, as well as edit it. Please open a chat window for me to attach the edited chapter so that you can review it. Regards Amita
I have a full-time job editing novels. I edit about 20 novels and read at least 75 books every year. I have looked over Chapter 1 and I'm very familiar with Track Changes in Word.
