Hello. If you are going to make your real code (not in theory) work faster you have to take into account and optimize for particular hardware (CPU). I suggest you to use some existing CPU optimized libraries like Intel Ipp and target particular CPU model (Intel as an example). And make your development in C language as I think utilizing such libraries in Fortran will be more difficult. Best regards.

Hello, 1. Will you run it on specific computer, when I need to know what processor, GPU, RAM size. 2. Is your algorithm allow parallelized count ? Hard to say something until I didn't see code but code optimization is my strong side, I wrote programs when personal computers has 640 KB RAM and 4,3 MHz CPU. ( I used IBM 360 and PDP 11 too). Hello! R is an interpreted language like Matlab, therefore it will be unfair to compared with a compiled Fortran program. I'm programmer in fortran, more than twenty years and I can guarantee for the best running time! I will not accept either one US dollar if you are not satisfied with the results. It is difficult to estimate the exact time that I need to translate the program from R into Fortran because R uses libraries, when I will see the R code I can say you exactly how many days I need.
