We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Media Research Assistant for an initial project to research, organize, document, and update our media database. This database tracks all media coverage (journalist, articles, videos, radio segments, etc.) related to our campaigns. We currently have an existing Excel-based table that served us well in the past but is now outdated and unfit for purpose—it needs restructuring for better scalability, searchability, and maintenance (e.g., improved categorization, date formatting, link verification, and possibly migration to a more robust tool like Google Sheets, Airtable, or a simple database if recommended).Together with a suitable media crm Initial Project Scope: - Review our current Excel media database (we'll provide the file upon hiring). - Research and add any missing media items from our campaigns (using web searches, archives, and provided leads). - Organise and document the database: Clean up data (e.g., standardise formats, fix broken links, categorize by topic/media type/date), add relevant metadata (e.g., journalist contacts, sentiment analysis if applicable), and ensure it's easy to update. - Download pdf copies of articles and video / audio copies if TV radio and store - Suggest and implement improvements for long-term usability, such as automation scripts, filters, or integration with tools for ongoing updates. - Deliver a fully updated, professional version of the database with clear steps on how to maintain it. This initial task is expected to take 20-40 hours, depending on the depth of research needed, and will serve as a trial for ongoing collaboration. If the Initial Project Goes Well: There is substantial additional work available at an assistant level, including: - Researching and drafting social media posts (e.g., X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) to amplify our campaigns. - Assisting with media outreach and, at a later stage, drafting press releases. - Ongoing media monitoring and database updates. - Potential for long-term part-time engagement (10-20 hours/week initially, scalable based on needs).
