A four-page data dashboard tracking Saudi Arabia's population, cities, faith composition, and economic development — from 2010 through today, updating itself automatically every day at zero ongoing cost. What it does: Past Years — population by nationality (2010–2024), the 10 largest cities and all 13 administrative regions across the 2010 and 2022 censuses, estimated religious composition, and real GDP growth back to 2010 This Year — Brent crude, WTI crude, and the Tadawul stock index plotted day-by-day, building a live trend line as the year progresses Today — the latest snapshot of those same indicators, refreshed daily Overview — a landing page tying the three together How it's built: Hand-built SVG charts (stacked area, diverging bars, dumbbell/slope comparisons, composition bars, live sparklines, hover tooltips) — no charting library, no framework, no build step A zero-dependency Node.js script fetches live market data once a day and commits the update automatically via a scheduled GitHub Actions job Runs entirely on free infrastructure — GitHub Pages for hosting, GitHub Actions for automation, free public data endpoints for the daily feed — so there's no hosting bill, no API key, and no credit card anywhere in the stack, ever Full light/dark mode, responsive layout, and every page verified end-to-end in a real browser before delivery Population, city, region, and GDP figures are sourced and cross-checked against GASTAT (Saudi Arabia's statistics authority), the World Bank, and the GLMM migration-data programme — not scraped or estimated Why it's worth something: the data pipeline is the hard part most dashboards fake — this one actually refreshes itself, forever, without ever costing the owner a cent to keep running.
