Hi, I have over 7 years of experience designing and integrating embedded systems and sensor-based lighting for scale models and robotics, including over 50 projects where I upgraded LED systems with automatic triggers. I recently implemented a proximity-triggered LED array for a 1:5 RC model airplane, achieving activation within 15 cm of an approaching object and stable operation for over 8 hours per charge. Approach: ✅ I will replace the unreliable touch sensor with a high-precision infrared or ultrasonic proximity sensor to detect nearby objects without relying on motion or vibration. ✅ I will integrate a compact on/off toggle switch to allow manual control while preserving automatic functionality. ✅ I will design the circuit to interface seamlessly with the existing LED system, ensuring stable voltage, current-limiting protection, and minimal latency. ✅ I will test the system under various lighting conditions and distances to guarantee reliable triggering and consistent illumination duration. Questions: ✅ What is the maximum activation distance you require for the proximity sensor? ✅ Do you prefer infrared, ultrasonic, or capacitive proximity detection for this application? ✅ Should the system maintain illumination after activation for a fixed time, or remain on until no objects are detected? ✅ What is the voltage and current rating of the existing LED system for proper interfacing? Best, Yaroslav

I can design a reliable proximity-based activation system to replace your current touch sensor, ensuring your LED lighting stays on consistently when someone approaches your scale aircraft. With my background in embedded systems and electronics design, I’ve implemented compact sensing solutions using infrared (IR), time-of-flight (ToF), and capacitive proximity sensors tailored for tight, weight-sensitive builds like model platforms. I will select and integrate the most suitable proximity sensor to provide stable detection range and immunity to false triggers, along with a clean on/off toggle override as requested. The system will be driven by a low-power microcontroller with optimized firmware to manage activation timing, debounce logic, and adjustable hold duration well beyond the current 20-second limitation. I’ll also ensure seamless integration with your existing LED circuitry, preserving current draw constraints and maintaining safe power regulation. Deliverables include a complete wiring diagram, component list (BOM), firmware source code, and clear installation instructions for straightforward implementation. If needed, I can also provide tuning support to fine-adjust detection sensitivity and timing so the lighting behavior feels natural and reliable in real-world use. Jared

Hi, I reviewed your project—this is definitely something I can help you with. Since your model already has an LED system, the main focus will be replacing the unreliable touch sensor with a stable proximity-based trigger and integrating a proper manual on/off toggle switch. I’ll design a solution that ensures the lights stay on consistently when an object is nearby, without the timeout issue you're currently facing. For this, I’d recommend using a reliable proximity sensing method (IR or ToF depending on range and accuracy needed) along with a clean control circuit so the behavior is predictable and stable. I can support you with: Selecting the right sensor (no false triggering / no short timeout issues) Circuit design and wiring integration with your existing LEDs Optional microcontroller logic (if needed for better control) Guidance for installation or a complete ready-to-build solution

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a simple job on the surface, but the real issue is choosing the right proximity method so it works reliably on a model airplane without false triggers or the annoying timeout problem you’re having now. Since you already have the lights, I’d focus on replacing the weak touch setup with a small, stable proximity-trigger circuit plus a proper manual on/off toggle. For this kind of build, the best options are usually: • IR proximity sensor for close-range detection • or a compact ToF sensor if you want cleaner, more controlled triggering I can help with: • selecting the right sensor for your aircraft size and trigger distance • designing the wiring/control circuit so the lights stay on for the correct duration • adding a reliable on/off toggle switch • making sure the system fits the model and runs cleanly from your current power setup Deliverables: • wiring diagram / circuit plan • parts list • setup guidance • control logic or small microcontroller code if needed Quick questions: • What voltage are the current lights running on? • How close should someone get before the lights turn on? • Do you want them to stay on while someone is nearby, or turn on for a fixed time? I can keep this compact, reliable, and far better than the current touch sensor setup.

Hi, Your current touch sensor setup is unreliable, the lights turn off after ~20 seconds and don’t stay consistently ON. This usually happens due to unstable sensing or poor timing logic. I have worked on similar automation projects using proximity sensors where stable detection, proper timing control, and manual override switches were implemented for consistent performance. My Approach: I will keep the system simple, stable, and efficient: -Replace the touch sensor with a reliable proximity sensor (IR or ToF) -Use a small microcontroller (Arduino/ATtiny) to: -Turn lights ON instantly when proximity is detected -Keep them ON with a stable hold time -Turn them OFF after an adjustable delay -Integrate a toggle switch for manual control -Implement proper debounce and timing logic to avoid false triggers -Keep the design compact and low-power, suitable for your model aircraft Deliverables: 1. Complete circuit diagram and component list 2. Easy wiring guide for installation 3. Clean, well-commented firmware/code 4. Setup and calibration instructions 5. Working video demo showing detection and light control I also have a fully equipped electronics lab, so I will test everything before delivery to ensure you get a reliable, ready-to-use solution.

I've worked on sensor integration and automated LED/device control before — including a smart home automation system where multiple proximity and motion sensors triggered lighting and device states reliably, with no timeout issues. Your problem is straightforward: the capacitive touch sensor has poor hold logic. The fix is replacing it with a proper IR proximity sensor (e.g. RCWL-0516 or HC-SR501) paired with a small Arduino or 555-timer latch circuit that keeps the LEDs on for as long as something is within range — no 20-second cutoff. A physical toggle switch for manual override is a simple addition on the same circuit. I have proximity sensors, Arduino boards, and LED driver components in stock and can design, build, and test this on real hardware in my lab before delivery. Delivery in 1 day: working circuit design, component list, and wiring diagram you can replicate — or a tested module ready to drop into your model. Are you looking for just the circuit design/code, or do you want a fully assembled module shipped to you?

Dear Client, I have reviewed your scale model airplane lighting requirements and I am confident I can recommend the right proximity sensor solution to replace your unreliable touch sensor. The best approach for your use case is an IR proximity sensor such as the HC-SR501 PIR or a dedicated distance sensor like the HC-SR04 ultrasonic module, both of which detect nearby objects reliably without relying on vibration or touch. Paired with a small Arduino Nano or similar microcontroller you can set a custom hold timer so the lights stay on for as long as you want after detection rather than cutting out after 20 seconds. I have helped with small electronics and Arduino-based automation projects before and can guide you through the full wiring and code setup. The toggle switch can be wired in series with the power supply so you retain full manual override at any time, and the proximity sensor sensitivity and hold duration will be adjustable via simple code parameters so you can tune the behaviour without rewiring anything. Deliverables would include the recommended parts list, wiring diagram, and a clean well-commented Arduino sketch covering proximity detection, adjustable hold timer, and toggle switch logic. Please share the voltage your current LED system runs on and the approximate detection range you want and I will put together the full solution immediately. Best regards, Lovely
