Money manager applying sector rotation methodology to the stock market. Separate software ranks various Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) by performance over the past n days (i.e., 10 days). I copy the results sorted from best to worst into Excel. I now need to run a macro or some method to calculate how much each ETF has moved up or down in the performance table in the current run (today, or T) versus the prior run (T - 1). If an ETF was ranked #20 in performance last run and is now #10 in this run, the difference is 20-10 which is +10. The next ETF in the table might reflect a difference of +7, and so on. I call these numbers Slope, or acceleration. Once Excel determines that, I need it to rank the ETFs again in order of Slope from best to worst rank. Where I'm stuck is each ETF shows up in a different place (obviously, due to market fluctuation) in each run so I can't just program Excel to use a Pivot table or other technique because Excel needs to identify where that ETF is this run versus last, then subtract, etc.
