I am Greg Cronin, a Clinton, MS resident and student of the community. Over the years, I have experienced a number of occupations, positions, and interviewed hundreds regarding education and community.
Over the past 9 years, I have formalized my interviews in order to understand how we can better educate our youth and engage our community in service. From this effort, I have developed two proposals for change that I wish to further develop.
One for education:
The Community Course Catalog - Empowering Teachers and in turn providing greater access to appropriate education at the optimum time.
One for Community Service:
[login to view URL] - preserving liberty through community service.
My perspective comes from schooling in both public and private schools in the Metro area. Eagle Scout Candidate, state champion in two sports. Degrees from Brigham Young University (BA - Marketing/Pre Med) and Millsaps (MBA). Two years as a full time missionary, in the heart of St. Louis for 14 months, "a third world" in America. Ten years in Corporate America as a Business Development Manager with an IBM Partner Company and Worldcom, then14 years of Self-employment as a Realtor, Developer, Builder, Bowling Alley and Community Club owner, and inventor and contestant on Shark Tank. I have served in ministering to my community for 27 years for Christ as a part of the church I attend. Married only once and for the past 21 years, four children and multiple pets along the way. Lastly, an Alderman for the City of Clinton last 4 years;an eye opener.
While one may wonder why the variety of roles, I answer: To study and learn. I love to seek understanding by walking in ones shoes. My life has allowed me a perspective that is wide-reaching and comprehensive. My education has given me the ability to astutely observe and analyze cause and effect. My experiences have placed me in the environments of the poor to the wealthy, the areas of great access and the areas of little hope.
I love to serve and desire to use my path as a means to alter the environments of our society in a systematic way. A way that will better educate and will motivate people to serve one another with the common goal to preserve our freedoms to choose greatness and variety, rather than to succumb to human created fears and controls that diminish our collective power to be great. We have bogged down our social capital that is collectively capable of a movement that will allow all people to rise up to a better future. With your help, I wish to take a step closer to facilitating a great influx in social capital to bring about substantial and sustainable change in how we educate and serve.
My search is for a developer(s) that has the skill to build a project submission, coordination, tracking and reporting app for community projects. I am also looking to create an online catalog for teachers and their courses to be marketed to parents and students directly. I will be a combination of LinkedIn, Amazon and back office tools.
